Most businesses in Africa tend to prematurely failand negatively affect the socio-economicdevelopment of African countries. Business failureis not attributed to the lack of finance but the lackof appropriate business management skills.Training in business incubation management (BIM)on the African continent – called BIM Africa- isbeing promoted by the African AgribusinessIncubators Network (AAIN) based in Accra, Ghana.
African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN)has been supporting innovative, impact-drivenventures throughout the entrepreneurial journey –from intention to impact at scale – for more thana decade. We have incubated and acceleratedhundreds of impact-driven start-ups together withour partners.
Purpose and Objectives
The main purpose of such training is to reduce or even stop businesses prematurely discontinuing. The objectives are;
- To promote African start-ups to become sustainable enterprises so that the enterprises contribute positively to the socio-economic development of African countries.
- To link African start-ups to lucrative markets
- To encourage the target group to get involved in BIM Africa


Approach and Delivery
AAIN’s approach is embedded in their local entrepreneurial ecosystems and globally connected in more than 56 African countries and 80 cities around the world. The AAIN members serve as a great source of entrepreneurial talent and ventures for dozens of programs. AAIN’s direct reach of approximately 500,000 people annually also serves as a valuable platform for programs. AAIN uses effective methodologies of incubating, accelerating & scaling innovative solutions around the world. Besides our direct reach, AAIN collaborates and builds partnerships with other networks and platforms such as investor network platforms, municipalities, chambers of commerce, embassies, trade desks, internationalization consultants, banks and impact investing networks.

BIM Accreditation Structure
The design, development, and execution of the technical support activities are clustered into three business incubation process activities, namely pre-incubation, incubation, and post incubation. AAIN‘s BIM accreditation is structured in three levels as follows;
Each incubation, acceleration or scaling program is built out of different modules that address the most important needs of the specific group of innovators or companies. The BIM trainings are conducted across the African continent, and are hosted by AAIN and its partners in those countries. Below is the BIM Calendar across the continent for 2023 and 2024.
