Outcomes
- Increase in profitable youth agribusiness enterprise hubs within the participating communities
- Improved youth employability due to Enhanced agribusiness knowledge and skills
- Increased awareness and uptake of climate smart agricultural practices and technologies
- Improved access to agribusiness financing by the beneficiary youth
Indicators
- Number of trained youth who successfully established and grow their agribusinesses. Disaggregated by gender and enterprise types.
- Number of participating youth who were gainfully employed and those who remain employed.
- Percent of trainees who have access to finance to establish their agribusiness enterprise, the value and number of loans obtained.
- Number of youth trained on climate smart agricultural practices and technologies, and who have successfully incorporated them into their agribusinesses.

Specialists
Primary Responsibilities of Specialists
SPECIALISTSSYMUF
The enterprise training specialist (Aquaculture, Horticulture, Poultry,
and Cuniculture) will provide training and leadership to ensure the
proper implementation of project objectives and delivery of project’s
training outputs across the relevant agribusiness enterprises.
SPECIALISTSSYMUF
The training officers oversee curriculum designing, reviews training manuals and slides.
SPECIALISTSSYMUF
They will ensure that all training protocols are being adhered to consistently.

They will synergize project partners with regards to support for trainings of youth participants.

Support the program coordinator in effective and timely submission of training materials and updates of materials in line with project requirement.

Preparation and supervision of daily routine; class management and trainees’ assessments

Submit timely reports to the Project Coordinator on project activities

Perform other key tasks as may be assigned by the project management

Work in partnership with the Project Coordinator and the Finance & Administrative Manager to ensure and facilitate the enterprise development in collaboration with relevant local partners where present.

Meet Our Expertise
Our Target Beneficiaries
- 120 un employed youth aged 18-35 years (50% female) | Early start Up (Brown Field), Potential Agriprenuers ( Green Field)
- 600 youth receiving indirect jobs through employment multiplier of 2.5. (240x2.5).
- Over 6,000 indirect participants (traders, artisans, etc.) in the value chain (250 participants per cluster enterprise). There will be 25 clusters of 5 interns/cluster.
- 250 urban consumers of fresh vegetables, poultry products and processed foods
- 480 agro-dealers and input suppliers impacted by trade (each cluster enterprise will do business with at least 20 agro-dealers)
- 12,000 smallholder farmers living adjacent to the enterprises through extension outreach including SMS advisory services on best practices including climate smart agriculture, market aggregation and access to finance (500 farmers per cluster reached).
Information Management and Dissemination Strategy
- Creating project specific website link.
- Developing a data base for start-ups Youths’ Micro-Small Medium Enterprises (YMMSEs) and project stakeholders.
- Production of quarterly newsletter publication and project monthly briefs, and weekly updates on progress of activities .
- Annual exhibitions and stakeholder engagement meeting.
- Production and dissemination of media and print specific articles.
- Use and application of social media in program implementation.
- Formation of regional project exchange learning platform.
- Production of quarterly and annual business performance reports.
