In an era where opportunity increasingly lives online, the African Agribusiness Incubators Network (AAIN Uganda) is stepping boldly into the digital future.
Through the Sustainable Inclusive Youth Employment Pathways (SIYEP) 2025-2030 programme, implemented with support from the Mastercard Foundation, AAIN is contributing to a bold national effort to transform youth employment outcomes across Uganda.
SIYEP is a five-year initiative empowering 258,000 young women in Uganda with skills development, incubation, mentorship, and enterprise support to unlock sustainable and inclusive employment opportunities.
Led by the Agency for Accelerated Regional Development (AFARD) and implemented by a consortium of seven partners with support from the Mastercard Foundation, the programme is building an innovative workforce system that enables young women, including refugees and those with disabilities to access dignified work and create thriving livelihoods.
At the heart of AAIN’s contribution to this transformation is Omuzeire Africa, a digital mentorship and business coaching platform designed to connect, equip, and accelerate Africa’s young innovators.
Bridging the Mentorship Gap
For many young entrepreneurs, especially in rural areas, access to experienced mentors and structured incubation services remains limited.
Omuzeire Africa is changing that reality.
“Before this platform, mentorship felt far away. Sometimes we had to wait days for physical sessions,” says Erina Mary Nduhukire, a youth incubatee under the SIYEP program. “Now I can log in, access training materials, and even ask questions directly to mentors. It makes me feel supported and confident to grow my business.”
By removing geographical barriers, the platform ensures that young women and youth aged 15-35 can access structured coaching, e-learning modules, and expert guidance regardless of their location.
AAIN’s Strategic Vision for Digital Incubation

As the lead partner for incubation and acceleration under SIYEP, AAIN is mandated to strengthen institutions such as universities, TVETs, accelerators, and enterprise support organizations.
According to the CEO of African Agribusiness Incubators Network, the platform represents a long-term shift in how incubation ecosystems operate:
“Omuzeire Africa is not just a digital tool, it is a systems solution. We are strengthening institutional incubation capacity while ensuring that no young innovator is left behind because of distance or cost. This is about building a sustainable, scalable incubation model for Uganda and beyond.”
Through digitized mentorship, structured e-learning, incubator accreditation, and integrated monitoring systems, AAIN is enhancing accountability while expanding reach.
The Technology Behind the Transformation

The development of Omuzeire Africa is being led by AAIN’s ICT team, under the guidance of ICT Specialist Rogers Ainemukama.
For Rogers, the platform is designed with both innovation and practicality in mind.
“We are building Omuzeire Africa to be user-friendly, scalable, and data-driven. It integrates onboarding, mentorship scheduling, assessments, analytics, and institutional accreditation in one ecosystem. Our goal is to make digital incubation simple, efficient, and impactful.”
The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) includes:
- Data automation and incubatee onboarding
- E-learning modules and assessments
- Online mentorship and coaching sessions
- Incubator accreditation tools
- Tools, guides, and expert directories
By digitizing these processes, AAIN is significantly reducing operational costs while increasing efficiency and transparency.
Official Launch of Omuzeire Africa

Omuzeire Africa was officially launched on 28th January 2026 by Ismail Banduga from the Mastercard Foundation, marking a significant milestone in AAIN’s digital transformation journey. The launch event was witnessed by young women beneficiaries, partner institutions, and members of the SIYEP Program Steering Committee.
Speaking at the launch, Ismail Banduga commended AAIN for embracing digital innovation to accelerate youth empowerment under the Young Africa Works strategy.
The event symbolized more than the unveiling of a platform, it represented a shared commitment to expanding access, strengthening incubation systems, and ensuring that Uganda’s young women and youth are equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Driving Inclusive Economic Growth
Under SIYEP, AAIN is contributing to the goal of equipping thousands of young women and youth with market-relevant skills and supporting their transition into dignified and fulfilling work.
Omuzeire Africa strengthens this mandate by:
- Expanding mentorship access nationwide
- Enhancing institutional incubation standards
- Improving monitoring, evaluation, and learning
- Facilitating networking and knowledge sharing
- Creating scalable pathways to enterprise growth
For young innovators like Maria, the impact is already tangible.
“It feels like someone believes in our dreams,” she says. “When you have guidance and training in one place, you stop fearing failure.”
A Digital Future for Africa’s Innovators

While developed to support SIYEP implementation in Uganda, Omuzeire Africa is designed with scale in mind.
It represents AAIN’s broader vision: a digitally connected incubation ecosystem that empowers young entrepreneurs, strengthens institutions, and fuels inclusive economic transformation across Africa.
Omuzeire Africa is more than a platform.
It is a movement toward digitally empowered, youth-led development.
