AAIN Performance Report 2023-2024

We experienced another year of transition and growth in 2023. Here are some highlights from
the past year 2023. We are grateful to AAIN members, business incubators, accelerators,
business mentors, researchers, the public sector arms of governments, entrepreneur support
organizations, funders, donors, and other institutions, for their diligent efforts in strengthening
Africa to become economically competitive in the agricultural and agribusiness sector for jobs,
employment and ultimately wealth creation thus reducing the burden of poverty on the
continent.
The continental vision for agribusiness in Africa emanates from Agenda 2063, the African
Union’s economic development blueprint for the continent, which outlines Africa’s development
priorities. This agenda identifies agricultural development as a high priority, especially in
envisaging Africa’s agriculture becoming modern and productive, using science, technology,
innovation and indigenous knowledge, making it profitable and attractive to the continent’s
youth and women. This vision is elaborated in the AAIN Strategy Lanched during the 8th edition
of the African Agribusiness Incubators Conference and Expo in Abuja Nigeria on Accelerated
Agricultural Growth and Transformation for Shared Prosperity and Improved Livelihoods,
essentially constituting the agricultural component of the first 10 years’ plan of Agenda 2063.

The strategy provides key strategic pathways;
1. Business Incubation Management and Capacity Development
2. Digital Economy, Technology and Innovations Management
3. Business Development and Mentorship Support for Youth and Women
4. The African Agribusiness Incubation Fund and
5. Culture and Creative Industry Enterprises

Which shape continental initiatives for improved livelihoods, agriculture and agribusiness
development. Therefore AAIN envisages an economy leading to sustainable growth, creating
jobs and employment in Africa. The strategic partnerships with key technical institutions have
provided the enabling platforms for the emerging, models, tools and instruments for scaling up
economies and innovative agribusiness developments for large-scale results and impact,
transforming the agribusiness landscape on the continent. AAIN with its partners has
spearheaded the utilization of new models to curb challenges associated with youth and women
unemployment in Africa.
The impacts we have achieved in the year 2023 have been made possible with the support of
our partners who support us technically and financially and trust in our work. We are so
incredibly grateful to every one of you and thank you for your partnership and investment.
Finally, we would like to thank our staff and our community partners. We are so fortunate to have
such a committed team who are passionate about the work we do.
